about

Daria Osipova, DJ Bloody Tomato

I was drawn to DJing as a kid. First it was CDs and school discos, then my parents’ reel-to-reel tapes: Donna Summer, old disco. I was listening to her in primary school while everyone around danced to Russian pop. My priorities in music were clear early.

Today I am Daria Osipova, based in Barcelona. When I travel I collect sounds and moods: drums, mantras, ethnic motifs, afro rhythms. Then I push them against electro, breakbeat and old disco.

I want a groove that reaches the body first. The explanation can come later.

Every set of mine works like a route: a familiar rhythm can turn into a mantra, old disco can meet hard electro, and for a few minutes the dancefloor becomes a different place.

Shows and line-ups

I play across genres and formats: indie dance, disco, italo disco, afro, organic, electronic, breakbeat, electro.

I’ve played stages and line-ups alongside known names of the Moscow scene.

ITALLIKA at Powerhouse, an italo-disco night in an 80’s spirit, on the bill with Karolina BNV, Dasha Utochka, Alina Vaulina, Johnny The Roastbeef and Radaplay_.

Club Myst on 1st Brestskaya, a night of indie dance, disco, afro, organic and electronic, on the bill with ossā, Shaggy, Natasha Bai and Sonia Heifitz.

Intimate Moscow spaces like WIP and Saga, low-lit evenings on the bill with Pirates Bride.

The “SEYCHAS” free arts festival, where I played italo and disco alongside other DJs, including fisky.

I play venues of every scale, from club nights to major city events: repeat bookings for the Ping Pong Party series at Powerhouse, an opening set for the Ozon tennis tournament, and a set at the Samokat tennis tournament at Luzhniki.
